INFECTIOUS BOOKS: 1 year, 7 months ago · updated 1 year, 7 months ago“Anyone whose goal is ‘something higher’ must expect someday to suffer vertigo. What is vertigo? Fear of falling? No, Vertigo is something other than fear of falling. It is the voice of the emptiness below us which tempts and lures us, it is the desire to fall, against which, terrified, we defend ourselves.” – Milan Kundera – The Unbearable…[Read more]

INFECTIOUS BOOKS: 1 year, 7 months ago · updated 1 year, 7 months agoI’m reading Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer for the 3rd time. Love his books! One of my favorite lines is – “I like to see people reunited, I like to see people run to each other, I like the kissing and the crying, I like the impatience, the stories that the mouth can’t tell fast enough, the ears that aren’t big…[Read more]

So thrilling, that you realize the full complexity of the mystery only after like a third of the book… Must read for an adult who appreciates dexterity-
Yup… bang on… so much the author could reveal about his central character without having to keep her in very scene; unlike other authors…
So… you recommend his other works? They as good as this? -
I see.. The Swedish Name is more to the point; but it probably wouldn’t’ve caught my attention

Its sad when a writer fades away… in my opinion, writers are on par with musicians in the field of blissful entertainment…
You might like The Kite Runner. Do read if you haven’t… though its a tad grotesque, you’d appreciate it as a writer…-
Way cool! I want to read this book! Good point about not keeping the main character in every scene.

You’re most welcome
Let me warn you that I don’t think I could say that the Soviet Union’s glorified in that book… -
”No need to please me with that”
LOL :O -
Thanks for the heads up!

INFECTIOUS BOOKS: 1 year, 7 months agoI am also reading ”Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. It was published in 1937. It is amazing, and I am stunned by its similarities to ”The Secret” and other Law of Attraction books (”Excuse me your life is waiting”, etc.). This is a great read for anyone seeking more success in any pursuit, and people who like the Law of Attraction topic.

INFECTIOUS BOOKS: 1 year, 7 months agoI have recently been reading Hunter S. Thompson’s ”The Great Shark Hunt – Gonzo Papers Pt. 1”. It has really opened my mind to a lot of things, especially the realization that things have been pretty much the same since the 60’s/70’s politically in the U.S. I highly recommend it, and cannot wait to finish this book.

INFECTIOUS BOOKS: 1 year, 10 months ago · updated 1 year, 7 months agoAhhh, now I’m reading ”American Gods” by Neil Gaiman, and ”A Song of Ice and Fire” by George R. R. Martin. I think I’m slipping ever crazier with these books. By the way… greatly recommended readings, for those who like a rather real and a bit dark fantasy. D.R.

If this doesn’t bring a benevolent smile to your face but rather makes you feel abstractly puzzled, do read ”The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”
The most humorous novel if you know a little bit about the universe. Period. -

If you listen to your soul you will know what is ”best” for you, because what is best for you is what is true for you. Know the truth and the truth shall set you free…

Infectious Books: 2 years ago · updated 2 years agoAs of lately I read the classic ‘Kidnapped’ (which I should have read in grade school but didn’t) to ‘The Beat Hotel’. As different as one book is from another, I like a variation. I like reading about real people, what their lives are/were all about, and ofcourse the classics. The last one I read was ‘Of Human Bondage’ by W. Somerset…[Read more]

It’s considered to be one of the classics by Robert Louis Stevenson published in 1893. It’s really for children, aimed for young boys.
It’s a fictional story set in 1752 about a young boy David who is kidnapped by his uncle and brought on a ship that sails from Dublin to America, then escapes a year later but not until he gets the adventure of…[Read more]
